Shropshire staff swap teaching for learning at conference in Telford.
Four hundred teaching staff from across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin attended a teaching conference in Telford yesterday.
It was organised by the Marches Academy Trust, and the participants came from the ten schools they look after.
The trust regularly runs conferences like these as they’re committed to the development of their staff; but this was the first one they’d been able to hold since the start of the pandemic.
The day featured a keynote presentation from Mick Waters about Irresistible Learning.
After that, participants mixed with teachers from other schools as they enjoyed workshops relevant to their specialty. For example, there were workshops about Safeguarding, Behaviour, and Assessment.
Teachers then returned to their school groups to share what they’d learned in the workshops, and planned how they could bring that to their own classrooms.
How VideoHQ filmed the event
VideoHQ was asked to come and help with event filming for the day; and to produce a promotional video from this footage.
To do this, we filmed the opening presentations; captured the action from the workshops; grabbed Vox pops from the participants; and recorded interviews with senior members of staff at the trust.
VideoHQ’s creative director Hannah Quinn is a fully trained journalist, so all interviews are conducted in a question and answer format, so interviewees don’t need to learn scripts and can come across naturally on camera. Find out more about our filming process.
