Shrewsbury LGBT+ History Festival 2022 brings community back together again
The Shrewsbury LGBT+ History Festival returned in person on the 1st April, after last year’s event had to run virtually because of the pandemic.
The festival has run every year since 2016, and for many people the event this year offered them the first chance to meet up again as a community since February 2020.
Attendees enjoyed three days of presentations, film screenings, and even a live music event.
The weekend ran smoothly, despite a number of volunteers having to drop out at the last minute due to COVID!
It took place from the 1st – 3rd April, at two different locations: the Shropshire Wildlife Trust and The Hive.
Speakers travelled to the event from across the country; including Andrew Lumsden joining from London, and Jane Hoy coming from Wales.
It was an enjoyable and informative festival – here’s to 2023 hopefully!
I had the absolute pleasure of filming the event, check out the festival highlights video below.
